Driving

Ontario has hundreds and hundreds of these wonderful-looking towns and villages. But there are also hundreds of hamlets. As I drive out in the country to visit my Yamaha or Steinway or Kawai, a sign alerts me to the existence of a little place. Without the sign, one might not notice that there is a place. It’s one more picturesque aspect of the drive in the country- along with rolling farms, crystal trout rivers, and colourful hillsides.

It always feels as if my piano servicing clients are subsidizing these beautiful drives in the country. But really, whether it’s congestion with parking in dense areas, slow highways around the suburbs, or outlying area distance — it seems things will always conspire to cut into efficiency in travel.
